Book Name: The Outsiders

Author: S.E. Hinton

Series: N/A

Total Amount of Pages: 180

Blurb: Ponyboy can count on his brothers, and on his friends.  But not on much besides trouble with the Socs, a vicious gang of rich kids whose idea of a good time is beating up "greasers" like Ponyboy. At least he knows what to expect- until the night someone takes things too far.

Favourite Character: Dally Winston

Comments: I loved this novel! I usually don't like class novels because we analyze the novel until you realize that it wasn't actually as good as you thought it was, but this book was different, it was utterly amazing. The characters were unique and had interesting names that stuck in your head, like Sodapop and Ponyboy.

S.E Hinton said herself that the reason it's stayed so popular over the years because teens feel like they can't talk to adults, like they wouldn't understand. She said she felt like that when she wrote the novel. The fact that she wrote this at age fifteen still amazes me but it enhances your reading experience because you know she has some real insight on the character's feelings.

The story was sad but happy all at the same time. It was funny but upsetting. The characters loved each other so much; they would do anything to protect each other, even if that meant dying for each other. It was just a cute and enjoyable book!
